Dermatologic Surgeon of the Year

This award is given to a senior dermatologic surgeon of outstanding caliber who has received international recognition for their contribution to the subject and has made significant contributions.

Minimum criterion: DASIL membership for 10 years or since the inception of DASIL

Age: Minimum 50

Date of announcement: In the first announcement of each Congress

Application Deadline: 1st June of every year. Application can be downloaded here and should be sent to hq@thedasil.org.

Selection process: A committee of three past presidents will choose the winner of the award from the names received. Board members can apply, but the three presidents who are in the selection committee can not apply-

Announcement of Results: 1st July. An invitation to the Congress will be sent to the awardee, who will be provided complimentary registration. If sponsorship is available, hospitality can be provided. At the inaugural ceremony of the Congress, a plaque/medal will be presented.

Scoring for Selection:

  • Academic qualifications including honorary qualifications: 10 marks
  • Academic achievements (papers, books): 30 marks
  • Positions in societies, contribution to medical societies: 20 marks
  • Organization of congresses, workshops: 10 marks
  • Specific innovation/original work if any: 20 marks
  • Contribution to society at large/pro bono work: 10 marks

Young Dermatologic Surgeon of the Year

This award is given to a young, promising dermatologic surgeon of outstanding caliber who has made important contributions to the discipline.

Minimum criterion: DASIL membership for five years

Age: Maximum 45

Date of announcement: In the first announcement of each Congress

DASIL Lifetime Achievement Award

This award is given to a very senior dermatologic surgeon of outstanding caliber who has made significant long-term contributions to the subject over their lifetime and has received international recognition for their lifetime work.

Minimum criterion: Dermatologist, plastic surgeon, facial plastic surgeon, gynecologist

Age: Minimum 60

Date of announcement: In the first announcement of each Congress

DASIL ANAS Society of the Year Award

This award is given to an ANAS society that has made important contributions to the discipline. This is an effort to recognize their efforts and activities, and to stimulate other societies to make similar contributions. It shall be by application only.

Minimum criterion: The society should be a member of ANAS.

Date of announcement: In the first announcement of each Congress

Application Deadline:1st June of every year. Application can be downloaded here and should be sent to hq@thedasil.org.

Selection process: A committee of three past presidents will choose the winner of the award. If the society to which the president belongs applies, then that president will not be a member of the selection committee and will be recused from the selection process.

Announcement of Results: 1st July.

Scoring for Selection

  1. Academic activities: 30
    • (Scientific activities: CME, etc. under the banner of the society) journal publication, books written, scholarships given.
    • Attach proof and give detailed information.
  2. Support for DASIL and activities in DASIL: 20
    • Number of delegates in DASIL Congress
    • Attendance of society representative at ANAS meeting during the annual Congress
    • Participation in ANAS newsletters
  3.  Community Service Projects: 30
    • (e.g. cancer awareness programs, Leprosy Eradication Program, HIV programs, STD Control Program, diagnostic camps, health education to the public, etc.)
    • Include ature of programs, place, time/date, attach proof
  4. International participation and liaison with other societies (e.g. International scholarships, mentorships, and training programs)

  5. A representative of the society should be willing to attend DASIL Congress
